A run you can plan around
Rosters are set in advance, not the night before. You know your sites, your start time and your finish time, and we don't move them without asking you first.
Careers
We're a small crew rather than a big roster, and we hire the way that implies — slowly, for the long run, and with the training to back it. If you take pride in a room that's properly finished, we'd like to hear from you.
Why People Stay
The same decisions that keep our clients also keep our cleaners. They're not perks — they're the reason the work comes out the way it does.
Rosters are set in advance, not the night before. You know your sites, your start time and your finish time, and we don't move them without asking you first.
You keep your buildings instead of being sent somewhere new each night. Nobody cleans a site well the first time — the second month is where the quality actually lives.
Your first month runs alongside a senior cleaner. Chemicals, floor types, infection control and the written scope — taught on the job, on the clock, before you're rostered alone.
We price a site for the time it genuinely takes. You won't be handed four hours of work and three hours to do it in, which is the single most common reason good cleaners leave the industry.
Serviced machines, decent cloths, and products that suit the surface. Supplied, replaced when they wear out, and never deducted from anybody's pay.
If an alarm won't set, a machine dies at 9pm or a site turns out to be twice the job it was quoted as, someone picks up. You're not left to sort it out on your own.
The Work
New roles open as new sites start, so there isn't always a vacancy on the day you look. Send your details anyway — we come back to the list first when there is one.
Offices, studios and retail after hours. The core of what we do, and where most people start.
Practices, day surgeries and wards, working to a zoned, colour-coded infection-control method.
Centres and early learning rooms after hours. Requires a current Working with Children Check.
Extraction, strip and seal, and periodic floor work. Training provided if you're new to the machines.
Rough cleans through to final detail on fitouts and new builds. Daytime work, staged to the site program.
Running a handful of sites and the crews on them — quality checks, inductions and the first call when something goes wrong.
Before You Apply
No trade certificate, no formal qualification and no prior cleaning experience is required for most roles. These are the things the job itself needs.
Those are the requirements of the work, not a description of the person. If you can do the job with a reasonable adjustment — to the equipment, the hours, the process or the way we communicate — tell us when you apply and we'll work it out with you. Asking costs you nothing and it doesn't count against your application.
The Process
The form below takes about five minutes. A résumé is welcome but not required — tell us the hours that suit you and anything you've done before, and that's enough to start.
A short conversation about the work and the hours, then a trial shift on a real site alongside one of our cleaners. That shift is paid, the same as any other.
Written terms before you start, checks arranged at our cost, and your first month rostered alongside a senior cleaner while you learn the sites.
Our Commitment
We assess every application on merit — on whether someone can do the work, and on nothing else. We don't discriminate on the basis of age, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, intersex status, race, colour, national or ethnic origin, religion, political opinion, disability, medical record, marital or relationship status, pregnancy or potential pregnancy, family or carer's responsibilities, trade union membership or activity, or any other attribute protected under Commonwealth, state or territory law.
Adjustments are available at every stage — the application, the conversation, the trial shift and the job itself. Ask for one and it will not count against you.
Everyone we employ must have the right to work in Australia. We check that the same way for every person we're about to make an offer to, and not before — so the check is never a way of screening people out earlier on. Please don't send us identity documents with your application; we'll ask for what we need, when we need it, and tell you why.
Most of our clients require a national police check for anyone attending their site, and childcare, school and some healthcare work requires a current Working with Children Check. We arrange those checks at our own cost, with your written consent, once there's a role to fill.
A record on a check is not automatically the end of an application. We consider whether it is relevant to the inherent requirements of the particular role, we tell you what we've received, and we give you the chance to comment before any decision is made.
Roles are employment, not subcontracting. Pay and conditions are set at or above the Cleaning Services Award 2020 for the classification and the hours you work, including superannuation, leave entitlements and any penalty rates and loadings that apply. You'll have that in writing before your first shift.
Any trial or assessment shift is paid at the same rate as ordinary work. We don't run unpaid trials, and we never ask anyone to pay for training, uniforms, equipment or checks.
Aus National Services (ABN 12 638 926 691) collects the details you put in the form below — your name, contact details, suburb, the role and hours you're after, and anything you choose to tell us — for the sole purpose of assessing your application and contacting you about work.
It's seen by the person handling hiring and by the supervisor for the role. We don't sell it, we don't use it for marketing, and we don't disclose it to anyone else without your consent, unless we're required to by law. It's sent to us by email through the form service this website uses, and stored with our own records.
We keep unsuccessful applications for up to twelve months in case something suitable comes up, then delete them. You can ask us at any time what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it — email info@ausnationalservices.com.au and we'll action it. Giving us your details is voluntary, but we can't assess an application without at least a name and a way to reach you. The full detail is in our privacy policy.

About five minutes. We read everything that comes in and we reply either way — if there's nothing suitable now, we'll say so rather than leave you waiting.
Not Sure Yet?
Questions about the hours, the sites, the pay or the checks are all fair ones, and you're welcome to ask them before you put anything in writing. Message us and a real person will answer.
